Why the Gayatri Yantra Card
Simha is the one rashi the Sun rules. The collection holds no yantra of Surya's own; the Gayatri, recited at sunrise in many homes, is the Sun's in tradition, and its yantra is the card for his sign.
Dhanu (Sagittarius) takes the same card, for Guru.
When to begin
Sunday is Surya's day, and tradition begins the card on that day, at sunrise. The rest of the practice is the same for every rashi: how families begin a rashi's card.
The card
Devi Gayatri is the mother of the Vedic mantras. Students keep her yantra on the study desk, and many families keep it through the exam months.
Questions about Simha and its card
Which yantra is kept for Leo (Simha)?
The Gayatri Yantra Card. Simha's lord is the Sun, and in tradition the Gayatri mantra is addressed to him.
Is my rashi my Moon sign or my Sun sign?
Your Moon sign. Vedic astrology reads your rashi from the Moon at your birth, so Simha is yours if the Moon stood in it then. Moon sign or Sun sign says how to find it.
What if my kundali points to another graha?
In tradition the reading comes before the sign: when an astrologer reading your kundali names a graha, families keep that graha's card. When the kundali names another graha.
