Choose a yantra by intention, not by look. Name the one thing you most want to keep in front of you, take the card tradition pairs with it, and keep it where you will see it every day. The table below names the card for each intention, the cards also worth considering, and where families keep it.

Your first yantra: begin with one

If this is your first, begin with one card and one intention. Choose the card tradition pairs with what you hold most in mind, pay, and then add the name, in the script you write it in. When it arrives, begin it at home with the seven steps: about thirty minutes, ideally at sunrise, and no pandit needed. After that, the practice is one breath of attention each morning.

How to begin your yantra

Where to keep a yantra

A yantra card is made to go where your day goes. Families keep it:

  • in the wallet or purse, for a card carried every day;
  • in the puja ghar, with the family's deities;
  • at the cash counter or the reception, for the shop and the office;
  • in the locker, or on the north wall, for Lord Kuber's yantra;
  • on the study desk, facing east, for Devi Gayatri's;
  • in the northeast (Ishan) corner of the home or the shop.

Not in the bathroom, and not on the bedroom floor. Wherever it lives, return to it each morning for one breath.

Can you keep more than one yantra?

Yes. You may keep more than one: one in the puja ghar, one in your wallet, one at the shop counter. Give each its own place and its own sankalpa, your intention in one sentence. Most people begin with one and add another as their practice deepens, or when a new chapter asks for it.

How do you know a yantra is working?

A yantra does not do the work for you, and we do not promise results. It keeps your intention in front of you while you do the work. So the honest measure is your own practice: whether you return to the card each morning, whether your sankalpa is still clear, and whether your effort has matched it.

Choosing a yantra as a gift

A yantra card is a gift that carries the person's name, printed in the script they write it in. Choose by their occasion:

Pay now and add their name later. Or send the card to their phone; it waits until they accept. Every card travels in a gift-ready envelope, with its activation card.

Choosing by graha or by rashi

In jyotish each of the nine grahas has its day, its bija mantra and its yantra. Those who look to one graha in their kundali often keep its yantra: Mangal's for Tuesdays, Budh's for Wednesdays, Chandra's for Mondays, and the Siddha Ketu card for Ketu, the shadow graha. For the planetary cards, tradition adds a longer practice: the bija mantra 108 times a day for at least 40 days, then 27 times a day.

Each of the twelve rashis has its traditional yantra too. Not sure of your Moon sign? The free Bhagya Card app shows your kundali, with your ascendant, Moon sign and nakshatra.

Choosing for a festival

Some yantras are begun on a festival. Dhanteras is the year's traditional day for a new purchase, and on Diwali night Lakshmi is welcomed home. Through the nine nights of Navratri the Devi is worshipped in one form each night, and in Pitru Paksha families remember the ancestors. Each festival guide has the day's date, and the last day to order so the card reaches you in time.

प्रश्नQuestions

Questions people ask about choosing a yantra

Which yantra is best for wealth?

In tradition, the Mahalaxmi yantra is kept for prosperity and the home, and Lord Kuber's for savings and the cash box. For a shop or office, families choose the Vyapaar Vruddhi card. None of them promises a result; each keeps your intention in front of you.

Which yantra should a student keep?

Students keep Devi Gayatri's yantra on the study desk, facing east. Brahma Dev's is kept for a new course of study, and Budh's for speech and writing.

Where should I keep the Kuber yantra?

Where the money is kept: the cash box, the locker or the wallet. Many families keep it in the locker, or on the north wall.

Can I choose a yantra for someone else?

Yes. Choose by their intention or their occasion, pay, and add their name after payment, in the script they write it in. Check the details before you press "Make my card": they are final after that, and paid orders can't be cancelled.

Do I need a pandit to begin it?

No. The seven steps take about thirty minutes, ideally at sunrise, and are meant to be done by you, at home.

Is every card consecrated before it is sent?

Yes. Vedic pandits we work with directly in Pune perform the puja of the yantra's deity for every card before it is dispatched.
