Agni Dev in the Rig Veda, and in every havan
The Rig Veda begins with his name. Its first verse praises Agni as the purohita of the yajna, the one placed in front, the deva who calls the other devas to it. Only Indra is addressed in more of its hymns.
He is the deva who lives in every home: in the hearth, in the diya, and in the fire of the havan, where each offering is poured into him and carried up to the devas. So he is called the mouth of the devas, and havyavahana, the carrier of offerings. Every offering ends on one word, svaha. In tradition, Svaha is Agni's consort, and an offering made with her name reaches the devas.
The Vedas also call him pavaka, the purifier. That is why, in tradition, his yantra is kept for purity: the clean space and the bath with which every puja begins.
A Hindu wedding is made before him, as the couple walk around the sacred fire with Agni as witness. At a griha pravesh, the first havan is lit in the new home. At sunrise and sunset, the agnihotra is offered into him.
His yantra is drawn from its traditional form.
When and where families keep the Agni yantra
The days. Whenever a havan is lit at home: a griha pravesh, a wedding, an upanayana, the havan of Navratri's Ashtami or Navami. And any sunrise, the hour of the morning agnihotra.
The place. In the puja ghar beside the diya, or in your wallet. In vastu, the southeast is his direction: agneya, named for him.
The practice. The third of the seven steps is lighting the diya. With this card, that small flame is where you begin.
What your card carries
- The yantra and its deity. Agni Dev's yantra, drawn from its traditional form.
- Your name, in your script. Printed as you type it, in Devanagari or in English, never transliterated.
- More, depending on the design: a date of birth, a gotra, a short message, a photo.
- The card's own QR. It opens the card's page: the card as it was issued, and its status today.
- A serial number on the back, beginning BC-.
You add these after payment, in the app or on the web, with a live preview. Once you press "Make my card", the details are final.
Begin it at home, in about thirty minutes
You do not need a pandit. Ideally at sunrise, or on the morning of a family havan:
- Unwrap it with intention, in a clean space: your puja ghar, or a desk facing east.
- Cleanse it with a soft cloth dipped in water and a pinch of haldi.
- Light a diya and offer a flower, a marigold or a rose, with a few grains of rice.
- Chant its bija mantra 108 times, one mala, the card in your right hand. The mantra is printed on the activation card.
- Set your sankalpa, your intention in one sentence, with the card held to your forehead.
- Place it where it lives: your puja ghar, beside the diya, or your wallet. Not the bathroom or the bedroom floor.
- Return to it each morning for one breath. There is nothing to renew; the practice is your attention.
In the envelope
- The Agni Yantra Card, in a gift-ready envelope.
- Its activation card, with the card's bija mantra and the seven steps.

प्रश्नQuestions
Questions about the Agni Yantra Card
Should the card go into the havan fire?
No. Never put the card in a fire. Keep it in the puja ghar beside the diya, or near where the havan is done, and begin it with the seven steps.
What does "kept for purity" mean?
In tradition, Agni is pavaka, the purifier, and every puja begins in purity: a clean space, a bath, a lit diya. Families keep his yantra in that spirit. It is a keepsake of devotion, not a promise of a result.
When should I begin it?
At sunrise, the hour of the morning agnihotra, if you can, or on the day of a family havan. Any morning you can give it thirty unhurried minutes is right too.
Is it a good gift for a griha pravesh or a wedding?
Both begin before the fire, so it is a gift with meaning for either. Pay now and add their name after payment.
