कथाThe tradition
Lord Kuber, keeper of the treasury of the devas
The Uttara Kanda of the Ramayana tells Kuber's story. He was Vaishravana, son of the sage Vishrava, and he spent long years in tapas. Pleased, Brahma made him the lord of the treasures and one of the guardians of the directions. The north is his. Brahma gave him the Pushpaka, the flying chariot, and on his father's word he made his home in golden Lanka. Later Ravana, his half-brother, took both Lanka and the Pushpaka from him, and Kuber built a new city, Alaka, in the Himalaya near Shiva's Kailash, where he lives as the king of the yakshas.
In tradition Lakshmi is wealth itself, and Kuber is the one who keeps it. On Dhanteras and Diwali many homes worship the two side by side, and in the house Kuber's place is wherever its savings are kept: the cash box, the locker, the account books. Many families set the locker so that it opens to the north, his direction.
His yantra holds that charge in a single drawing: a point at the centre for the deity, and the lines that open around it to the square of the bhupura, with a gate on every side.
स्थानWhere it is kept
When and where families keep the Kuber yantra
Dhanteras, in the days before Diwali, is the year's traditional day for a new purchase, and the traditional day to begin a Kuber yantra. Many families begin it at the Dhanteras evening puja, or at the Lakshmi Pujan on Diwali night, with Lakshmi beside him.
- In the cash box or the locker, with the household's savings.
- In your wallet, where your own money goes with you.
- With the account books, at home or at the shop counter.
Keep it on the north side, his direction, and never on the floor.
For this year's Dhanteras, order by Thursday 14 October 2027 for delivery in India, or by Tuesday 5 October 2027 abroad.

प्रश्नQuestions
Questions about the Kuber Yantra Card
Where should I keep the Kuber card?
Where the money is kept: the cash box, the locker or your wallet. Many families keep it on the north side, which is Kuber's direction in tradition.
Which day should I begin it?
Any morning you can give it thirty unhurried minutes, ideally at sunrise. Dhanteras is the traditional day, and many families begin it at the Dhanteras or Diwali evening puja.
Kuber or Mahalaxmi: which should I choose?
In tradition Lakshmi is wealth itself and Kuber is its keeper, so many homes worship them together at Diwali. Families often keep Mahalaxmi in the puja ghar and Kuber where the savings are kept.
Is the card consecrated?
Yes. Before it is dispatched, Vedic pandits we work with directly in Pune perform the puja of Lord Kuber for your card.
Is the card a promise of wealth?
No. In tradition, families keep Kuber's yantra beside their savings. It is offered with love, not as a promise of a specific result.
