कथाThe tradition

Ketu and the churning of the ocean

The Puranas tell how the devas and the asuras churned the ocean of milk for amrit. As the amrit was served, the asura Svarbhanu slipped into the line of the devas and drank. Surya and Chandra knew him, and Vishnu, in the form of Mohini, cut off his head with the Sudarshan chakra. He had tasted the amrit, and he lived on in two parts: in tradition, the head is Rahu and the body is Ketu.

His name means a banner. Rahu and Ketu are not bodies in the sky like the Moon; they are the two points where the Moon's path crosses the Sun's, and eclipses fall near them. They are called chhaya grahas, the shadow grahas.

In jyotish, Ketu is the moksha karaka, the graha of detachment and of the search inward. Families who look to Ketu in their kundali keep his yantra close to their japa and their reading, in the puja ghar or in a wallet.

This card carries his yantra, drawn from its traditional form. Ketu on our navagraha page has his bija mantra and the day it names for him.

स्थानWhere it is kept

When and where families keep it

Ketu has no weekday of his own: the seven days belong to the seven grahas from Surya to Shani. Our navagraha page names Tuesday, the day shared with Mangal, for beginning his yantra at sunrise. Families keep it in the puja ghar, near the place where they sit for japa, or carry it in a wallet or purse.

नामYour card

What your Siddha Ketu Yantra Card carries

  • The yantra of Ketu, drawn from its traditional form.
  • Your name, in your script. Printed exactly as you type it, in Devanagari or in English, never transliterated.
  • Depending on the design, a date of birth, a gotra, a short message and a photo.
  • A QR that opens the card's own page, and a serial number on the back that starts with BC-.

You add these after payment, in the app or on the web, with a live preview. Nothing is printed until you press "Make my card"; then the details are final.

विधिHow to begin

Begin your Ketu yantra on a Tuesday

You do not need a pandit. On a Tuesday, ideally at sunrise:

  1. Unwrap it with intention, in a clean place, ideally your puja ghar. Pause for a breath first.
  2. Cleanse it with a soft cloth dipped in water and a pinch of haldi. It is symbolic: you prepare it for its place.
  3. Light a diya and offer a flower, a marigold or a rose, with a few grains of rice.
  4. Chant Ketu's bija mantra 108 times, one mala, with the card in your right hand. It is printed on the activation card.
  5. Set your sankalpa, your intention in one sentence, with the card held to your forehead: "To sit for japa each morning before the day begins."
  6. Place it where it lives: the puja ghar, beside your mala, or a wallet or purse. Not the bathroom or the bedroom floor.
  7. Return to it each morning for one breath. There is nothing to renew. The practice is your attention.

The longer practice. For the planetary cards, tradition adds a longer practice: the bija mantra 108 times a day for at least 40 days, then 27 times a day.

Ketu's bija mantra, as our navagraha page has it.

How to begin your yantra

In the envelope

  • The card, with your name as you typed it.
  • The activation card, with Ketu's bija mantra and the seven steps.
  • A gift-ready envelope, so it can be handed over as it arrives.

If it arrives damaged or wrongly printed, write to us within 7 days of delivery with the order number and a photo, and we will replace it at our cost.

उपहारA gift

Giving it as a gift

For a parent who has turned, in later years, to japa and reading, or for someone setting out on a pilgrimage, the card can be made in their name. Pay now and add their name after payment, in the script they write it in. Add their mobile number too, and the card waits in their wallet in the Bhagya Card app. The printed card reaches them in its gift-ready envelope, with the activation card, so they can begin it themselves on a Tuesday.

प्रश्नQuestions

Questions about the Siddha Ketu Yantra Card

What does "Siddha" mean in the card's name?

It is part of the yantra's traditional name, and we keep it as the catalogue has it. Your card is consecrated with Vedic puja in Pune, like every Bhagya Card; we make no other claim for it.

Which day should I begin it?

Ketu has no weekday of his own. Our navagraha page names Tuesday, the day shared with Mangal; begin at sunrise. If you keep the longer practice, chant his bija mantra 108 times a day for at least 40 days, then 27 times a day.

Is Ketu a graha to worry about?

No graha is simply good or bad in jyotish, and the navagraha puja honours all nine, Ketu among them. This card is kept for devotion to Ketu, never against fear of him. For a question about your own kundali, speak with your family's jyotishi.
